Internet messaging overtakes SMS

A research paper released this week by Informa, revealed that more people are using the Internet for messaging rather than sending SMS’s.

The short messaging service (SMS) has been a popular method of communication for the past 20 years. Though since the advent of new, free messaging apps like WhatsApp, Viber, KakaoTalk and Apple’s iMessage have emerged, resarch is showing a decline in SMS use.
