M.I.T Tinfoil Hat Study

A group of MIT students conducted a study on the effectiveness of tinfoil hats blocking radio frequencies. The students came up with three hat designs, the Classical, the Fez and the Centurion all using two layers of aluminum foil. The group of students carried out various tests on a group of four individuals using a $250,000 network analyzer. The group of MIT students found that instead of actually blocking various radio frequencies the tinfoil hats actually amplified these radio waves by 30 or 20 dB depending on the wave frequency that is being produced.
